This weekend Zack, Kate, Duder, Jason Porter and I went backpacking. We hiked into Hunt lake and stayed the night. To say the least it was quite an adventure. First of all neither Kate nor I had ever camped this way but it all turned out really well. The hike was not an easy one. It was only about 2 miles in, but most of the hike was a boulder field. It may be hard to believe but Kate and I were not the "liability". The dogs on the other hand did not sign up for this tough boulder hopping adventure, and they were quite vocal about their dissatisfaction. These dogs were scared and even though they cried (Porter mostly) almost the whole way, the destination was worth it. And, I think the dogs might even do it again if it meant they got to sleep in the tents with us and run free for almost 24 hours again.
We ended up being pretty much the only ones at the lake. It was amazing how beautiful this place was. We had such a good time. We set up camp, explored the area, sat around the fire and Zack even caught us 3 small fish for dinner. The dogs had the time of their life, running free, exploring and relaxing. It was so nice to get out and do something different.
Can you believe it..... snow!!!
We had really nice weather while we were there, we even went swimming!
beautiful pictures, heidi jo! the one of the dogs looking out to the lake is priceless! :)
