2 weeks

I've officially been a Mama for 2 weeks today.  I have to admit,  it's been sort of a blur.  So much has happened, and I just hope I don't forget.  It's so crazy that Sylvia was in my belly just 2 weeks ago, she seems so big!!!

At Sylvia's doctors appointment on Monday she weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces, 21.5 inches long (96th percentile) and her head measured 14.5 inches.  Dr. Ertugay (pronounced air-to-guy) was very pleased with her growth & her bilirubin levels came down so we are out of the woods in terms of jaundice.

Sylvia still has a full head of dark hair and everyone thinks she looks like me.  I have to admit, it is a little crazy to look at a little person and see yourself :).  We are getting to know our little girl,  and she seems just perfect.  She smiles at us quite a bit and spends more and more time with her eyes open.  Her eyes look like they will be blue.

Porter is not too sure about his little sister.  My days are not spent loving on him all the time, and he has taken notice.  It actually breaks my heart.  He sniffs her, but mostly just looks at me when she cries as if to say "when do we send her back", or "where did you get her, I would never misbehave this way".  His little world will never be the same, but I am fairly certain as soon as she eats table food they will be the best of friends.

Sylvia was so sleepy the first 2 weeks of her life, she never woke up crying and slept a lot :), until last night.  I think our normal baby has arrived.

Jason is the best Daddy in the world.  He loves his little girl.  For a guy who had never changed a diaper is now a pro and swaddles way better than me!  He has taken such good care of me and helps out with Sylvia in every way he can.  I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband to share this whole parenting thing with.

We've taken Sylvia on a few outings.  Her first being church when she was just 3 days old (we were being presented as new members and really wanted to be there).  We've also taken her to beaver lake park & on a walk through Lake sammamish state park.

We've been so lucky to have family that has taken such good care of us.  Cleaning our house and making us meals.

This post is getting really long, I just don't want to forget. :).   Here are some pictures chronicling Sylvia Mae's first 2 weeks of life.
