38 weeks

I've made it to 38 weeks.  In the words of my 5 year old Niece,  "Its June, and that means Heidi's baby is going to be born"...... hopefully sooner than later :).

Things to note about 38 weeks
  • My feet are really swollen, I have some serious fat ankles right now :)
  • My center of gravity is gone, which is evident from this story.  Sunday evening Jason & I were headed out front to sit and chat with our neighbors.  Jason grabbed a beer & I had my treat, a popsicle.  Jason suggested that I not wear my slippers outside and at least put some flip flops on.  I agreed and turned around to walk back up on to the porch to get them.  Just as Jason bent over to help me switch shoes, I trip & fall face first.  The only thing that caught me from falling flat onto my belly was my nose slamming into the top of Jason's head.  It hurt, I bled, have some bruising & slight swelling, but I choose to say its not broken :).  No black eyes thank goodness, a pregnant lady with black eyes is never a good sign.
  • At my 38 week appointment I was 3cm dialated and 85%-90% effaced, just slowly getting closer.  My doctor thinks the baby will come this week or next, fingers crossed.
  • We had our last ultrasound, and everything looked good.  She is a little larger than we anticipated but we are happy that she looks healthy.

Also, we made a final transition to parenthood, & traded in the Lexus for the Forester.  Now we have room for Porter and the car seat fits :)
